Catherine O’Farrell is the Group Head of Inclusion across all Athena schools. Catherine has been leading inclusion internationally from Ireland to Australia, spending 8 years in the UAE. She is regularly published in educational magazines and is a director on the Dubai Inclusion Network. Catherine is passionate about removing barriers to learning to ensure that every child can reach their full potential in an inclusive, caring environment.

Afshan Yakoob has more than 11 years of experience in the field of Education, primarily in the Early Years and Preschool setup. She holds a degree in Business Administration, but her passion for education led her to pursue a CACHE Level 3 –  (Diploma) Award in Childcare and Education for Young Children. She is currently seeking her CACHE Level 5 – Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s services. She is also TESOL certified and has completed multiple training courses in the Early Years Curriculum. Living and growing up in the U.A.E for almost 30 years, Afshan is well versed with the cultural and religious values of the local and expat community. She has worked in various schools and nurseries that followed International Curriculums where she has learned, grown and nurtured the fruits of Early Years Education.

Sadia Wajid leads Al Sadiq Islamic English School, this being the third school she has lead as principal in Dubai. She brings to the position 20 years experience in the British National Curriculum and is passionate about teaching and learning. A science teacher by origin her career path encompasses specialisms in instruction and staff development, Head of Secondary School, Academic Leader, and Vice Principal.Her educational experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. Her educational philosophy is based on her firm belief that all students have the capability to learn and deserve personalized learning opportunities to enable them to reach their full potential. She believes that through hard work and perseverance we can specially develop each child. She feels that teamwork is the ultimate way a school can be successful in reaching the student's hearts and minds. Collaborates with the leadership team to develop building-wide goals and implement Response to Intervention and Positive Behavior Intervention System. She emphasizes open communication between teachers, parents, administrators, and other stakeholders, ensuring cooperative effort and the availability of a full range of educational support for the betterment of the students.

Dionne Pinkett Foy

Dionne Pinkett Foy, has been involved in education for 22 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Early Childhood Education and a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Sociology from Georgia State University. She then later attended Central Michigan University where she received her Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership. She holds a certification in Special Education for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Most recently, she obtained an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. Before becoming the principal, she served as an Academic Vice Principal with the Ministry of Education. In her earlier years in education, she taught kindergarten, 2nd-9th grades, as well as served as a Special Education Coordinator for inner-city public schools in Atlanta, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina. She has also held various leadership positions on several committees throughout her career.

Abdelkarim Amdouni holds a Bachelor Degree in English Linguistics and a Master of Education from Murdoch University. He holds an elaborate experience in teaching and educational leadership. A teacher trainer approved as NEASC visitor and has actively participated in school accreditation in different schools in UAE. The multilingual leader is fluent in Arabic, English, and French wishes to be able to communicate with all levels of individuals at the school and firmly believes that each interaction is a vital factor to mold the children of today into the leaders of tomorrow.

She has been the Principal of IAS since May 1, 2017 and has managed to bring about a lot of changes and improvements to the school leadership structure,teacher recruitment, professional development. With more than 25 years of experience in education and educational leadership, the main focus for Dr. Haleema in her leadership of the school has always been improving and impacting student learning in both internal and external assessments as well as building capacity of both senior and middle leadership teams. Dr. Haleema has prepared different schools for inspections with ADEK and KHDA as well as accreditation with Advanc-Ed and NEASC.
